Kodawari Karate opened in March 2003 with Dan grades registered with the World Union of Karate Do Federations (WUKF). We are not a Dojo that is concerned with ego or belt chasing, we simply aim to promote authentic Shotokan Karate. Our Dojo is a non-political, professional, and friendly Karate environment.

Our classes are taught by a year 6 primary school teacher.
"My son has attended Kodawari Karate for the past 4 years and has thoroughly enjoyed being part of the class. As well as developing Martial Arts skills to a high standard, due to the expertise of Sensei Cook, he has also grown in confidence. The lessons provide an opportunity to build on fitness and work towards his gradings. There is also a large focus on the 'whole person' to ensure the children are the best they can be, and also that they know how to use their Martial Arts skills responsibly. My son is also very keen to demonstrate and talk about what he has learnt in class from Sensei Cook when he is home." Steve H.
